Reflective Journal 2 (education system)

During the last class, the teacher told us to discuss Malaysia’s higher education systems’ problems. From the discussion, I found that many students are studying for grades and academic qualifications to the extent some have lost sense of morality. In my opinion, ethics plays a crucial role in establishing a civilized society. However, secularism and capitalism have pressured the students to cross the boundaries set by moral standards and shariah. Social problems such as GRO culture have ruined these students’ morality. These individuals, a part of it, driven by the desperation of earning pocket money and tuition fees, start to sell themselves to afford the financial commitments.

When thinking of a problem, we couldn’t avoid questioning what the root cause is. During the discussion, the teacher mentioned that the privatization of education began in 1996. Private sectors can establish private education institutions to profit by selling education to students, which contradicts what has been found by Rasulullah SAW of free education. As a result, higher education costs a fortune, and affected students resort to various methods to handle financial problems. However, it has been a debate among netizens when the top 10 sugar babies university in Malaysia list surfaced on the net. Some people argue that there are so many other halal methods to earn money for tuition and living expenses and said that those who opt to be sugar babies just want to avoid the hard way to find income. They are tempted to live a comfortable lifestyle where they could afford branded goods and a wealthy lifestyle. Peer pressure also plays a massive part as one of the temptations to these individuals.

When we put all of this situation together, we could see that people nowadays, the students, the government, and all the involved parties in this issue have place Nafs as their god. They are so greedy for profits and a comfortable lifestyle without struggling and willingly do everything without considering the laws and rules established by the Deen. Little did they knew their actions would be affecting everyone. For instance, there will be cases like corruption among authorities and teaching staff to pass an exam or a baby born out of wedlock and problems within individuals like STDs. In short, we can say that the education system is failing many future graduates due to immoral behavior caused by inevitable pressuring situations. So how will the goals of quality education be achieved?

Education should be accessible to everyone, accessible is not just the education that reaches the people yet also not becoming a burden and later creates more problems.

Reflective Journal 1

The last time I went to a bank in Puchong, there are two kids walking around asking for money. It was nighttime. In my mind was “Why do these kids are still here?”. Not far from the bank there is also another bank and it happens to be another pair of kids doing the same. I’m thinking of these kids might be the victims of the beggar syndicate. The kids are either were abducted or maybe some are homeless striving to live found by the criminals and then made into beggars.  Crimes like this happen because some people live in poverty due to the high cost of living and failure to establish a peaceful society. Taxes and increasing day by day, not just only on the people’s income but also on goods and services. Some people had to trade their sole property to make sure they are not starved to death. Children are being abused and exploited for personal good. Meanwhile, crime rates are increasing because of corruption. Criminals that have been caught are getting away by bribing the authoritie...

Kurma

Assalamualaikum readers! Its the final day of Ramadhan now. Cepat sangat kan Ramadhan tahun ni? Student uia pun baru je habis lecture week kan, kemain ye 10 minggu takde midsem break. So, bersempena dengan Ramadhan terakhir ni aku nak share satu renungan yang aku buat. Sila enjoy! Okay, so based on tajuk kita iaitu 'Kurma', is basically one of the sunnah ketika berbuka. Like, semua orang tau kalau kita berbuka dengan tamar adalah sunnah and kita dapat pahala by eating kurma. Part tu, sebagai seorang muslim, aku rasa aku sangat bertuah sebab apa? ALLAH dah prepare pahala dah untuk hamba dia yang melaksanakan kebaikan. Like, imagine eh. Just by eating a single tamar, you get reward, you get pahala. Its just that aku nak kata la, aku bukan seorang yang gemar makan kurma. Tapi during this ramadhan my view changed, like i told myself, my brother to eat kurma niat untuk mengamalkan sunnah. Aku letak tepi aku punya tak suka kurma tu. Sebab makan sebiji je kan, that's not gonna do ...

Assalamualaikum wrt. wbt. This is some information about myself. My full name is Ameen Noor Aqilah. All my friends call me Ameen. I was born in October 2001 and I live in Puchong. This is the infographic poster that made by my group entitled 'Tanda-tanda akhir zaman dan Ilmu akhirat.' Same with semester 1, I also participated in a roleplay assignment with my friends and made a poster about 'The be...
